Help! Please Handbreak moulding

Hi All,

Trying to get the centre cabin moulding out of the car (2000, 2.3) but the hand-break moulding is impossible to remove from the hand-break, which stops the tunnel like moulding from coming free.

Is there a special way or trick to remove the hand-break moulding?

Would really appreciate help on this one.

Thanks

Dave

Try a quirt of penetrating oil down the sides of the rubber handle. A few wiggles and a firm pull will see it slide off.

Make sure you clean the oil residue from both parts before refitting or you could see it in your hand next time you pull the brake on.

Many thanks for the washing up liquid tip, it worked a treat, I'm much obliged to you.

A little dish soap and water works great for this also. No cleanup later either. It works anytime you need to lubricate rubber, too.
