Hi I live in Canada and like you it get vert cold so I will not drive my SLK 320 passed the middle of November.

Just make sure you use a fuel stablizer in the fuel tank.

Use a battery float charger (Trickle) in or out of the car.

Put a little more air in the tires I use about 34 psl

Make sure the antifreeze is adequate for your areas temps.

That's about all I will be doing on mine.

I'm sure others will have other ideas along with the above.

Protect it from mice. Dryer sheets, moth balls, physical barriers. Anything that works.

Yup, spread them around in the engine compartment, trunk and on the carpets inside. Don't be shy with using them, more is generally better than 1 or 2. I prefer mothballs and physical barriers like good fitting garage doors, etc. Of course a hungry barn cat is ideal. But he is storing his car outdoors, probably the worst place for mice. And for cats

I would change the oil if its almost due.
Cover it with a breathable cover. You might want to arrange the cover so it does not touch paint.

You don't need it local, just get it from amazon.

It is usually quite difficult to import fluids in many countries.
Because in customs it is very difficult to prove what really is in these cans\packs.

hrm...I forgot about that.. is there anyone on ebay locally that could do it? Surely someone must be able to get it. Have you called the dealership and asked them? Have you contacted the local auto parts stores for stabilizing solutions? Someone has to be able to help you out there..

Hi, my recommendation is get some large Silica Gel packs to leave in the interior and the boot. You can buy huge ones in Camper Van Centres. They will help Lessen the anount of moisture from condensation. Just dry them out in the oven once a month and put them back in the car.

Also if even with a fuel stabiliser make sure the tank is full, less chance of condensation.

Gummi Pfledge or similar all your rubber seals.

I thought I had a line on secured garage parking, but it was not heated. That kind of defeats the purpose. I'll keep searching though.

Although I recommend and use a fuel stabilizer, it is not critical as most gasolines are able to be stored for 6 months to a year. If you cannot get a stabilizer, you will want your pre-storage fill to be from a high volume gas staion so the gas is "fresher". I am not sure if any brands are considered better quality but better quality may help. Do the fuels contain ethanol?

Have to run mine through the winter as it is my one car

Last night driving home late the glitters had been out and the temperature was 1.5 C in places.

Better start on the weekend hose under the car regime to keep the salt at bay

Those boat shops are life saver for a cabriolet.
Especially for soft tops.

Stoli always worked for them long Russian Winters in Germany.......It worked in the Gas Tank in the Radiator and as Washer Fluid as well for them cranky Bettys during the long German Winter Month. The down Side your Car might smell like an Alci in Spring.... Explain that to the s..... that it is the Car that smells like Vodka and you have not been drinking. I would stay away from the Stoli Fruit Flavors straight Stoli in the Tank is just fine........

[QUOTE=Berliner Heckflosse;987617]Stoli always worked for them long Russian Winters in Germany..../QUOTE]

But don't waste it. You let it do its fine work on you and then recycle it into the car. Don't forget you can use the recycled Stoli to top up your battery acid level when low. And the Stoli "recycling" would contain both alcohol and ammonia so makes an excellent cleaner.
