Getting Bluetooth in Factory Radio on the cheap

Hey guys... I just wanted to share with everyone how I was able to rig Bluetooth for just under $50. I guess my needs were simple. I wanted Audio music streaming, and I wanted to keep the original radio. I could've just gone with a new head unit, and perhaps I will someday, but for now, I'm choosing to keep the stock head-unit.

First, to get the radio out, I took the metal support from a file folder, and cut the metal strips accordingly.

Then I took one of those tape player adapters, and ran the wire out the back of the radio, and attached it to a marine BT adapter.

It connects super fast, and I just use a dedicated iPhone for my music.

It was easy to hook up the BT adapter, too. One wire to ground, one wire to 12v (switched), and then connect the tape 3.5mm male to the 3.5mm female on the BT unit. Slide the entire thing back into the dash, and you're good to go! NO WIRES TO CLUTTER UP THE CAR!!

Under $10 if you just plug the cassette adapter into your device. Add a mike and you can have handsfree.

OK, your choice. Guess you do not want a phone charger either.

I don't understand what you're saying. I have a USB plug in the cigarette lighter spot. That takes care of phone charging when needed, which isn't too often.
