Roof hydraulic Resevoir ? - How do you top it up ?

Hi

can anyone assist - the fluid level is low in the resevoir how do you actually get the top up fluid into it and does the engine need to be running . will any hydraulic Fluid be ok to use

Thanks

PS - I am New to the SLK world - Sorry if the question is a bit obvious but I'm just limping through ownership like a blind man at the moment.

Hi,

first, i supose it's the cooling system . . .
it's normaly low, don't fill it to the top, anyway it will overflow when running if you put too much.
You should ask the MB garage to get the same fluid, some cooling fluids can't be mixed !
On your dashboard, If the warning heating system light is not on, the level is OK.
filling has to be done engine off and cold.

JFR - I think our friend is refering to the resevoir in the trunk for the roof hydraulics. Good advice though, go ask your MB service rep for the right fluid and what level it should be at...
