jack stands?

i have a jack / stand question -

2001 slk230

i use the stock jack to lift the side however when i want to use the 3 Ton stands i bought from walmart which have a curved half circle type of top i am not sure where to place those.

the little rounded areas under the car parallel the stick jack holes? lowering the car into those will bend the car metal, is that ok?

what about the back of the car?? i want to do a fuel filter replacement and not sure how to lift BOTH side of the cars - do i jack it up enter a stand lower the car onto the stand, remove the jack and go to the other side? is it safe for the car ?

thank you.

Here's a thread that applies to the R171 (any engine) and likely will apply to your car:

It should answer all your questions.

And it answered my questions as well. Was actually looking at a way to jack up my 230. The info found in the indicated thread should do just fine. Thanks Mojo!
