Red face Windshield washer

Hi all!
Any chance that anyone would know how to remove the windshield washer bottle from under the wing of a R170 without damaging things. I have removed the plastic casing but the bottle will not come easily after removal of the screw holding it. The pump seems to have stopped working after the winter and probaly needs replacing. Any suggestions are welcome!

regards

I had mine replaced after the bottle cracked, but didn't do it myself. The mech who replaced it put the car on a lift and removed it through the wheel well. I'd suppose you could do it with a jack, but take care...

Thanks, I considered a lift but i'd have to pay someone to do it. It's certainly in an akward place to work with under a jacked car..

What was the clue that the bottle had cracked? Reason I ask is that I went to fill mine up a few weeks back after just buying the car. Since you can't actually see the bottle it's kind of hard to tell when it is near full, full or overflowing, but I was gauging how full the bottle was by how much (if any) the washer fluid was starting to back up into the filler cup.

When the fluid started to back up in the filler cup I stopped filling, by that point I had maybe put in .5 US gallons. But by the time I stopped filling I heard fluid dripping and I noticed it was dripping out the bottom of the car. My guess is that maybe 10% of what I put in ended up on the garage floor.

So I wasn't sure if the filler cup is supposed to make a tight seal with the bottle (meaning that I would expect the fluid to overflow into the filler cup), or if it's supposed to have a loose seal (meaning I would expect the fluid to overflow the bottle & drain out like it did), if there is an "overflow hose" near the top of the bottle, etc. or if it was in fact cracked.
