SLK R171 17" Staggered Wheels and Tyres

SLK R171 17" Staggered Wheels and Tyres, set of 4, front : 17 x 7.5 with offset of 36 and rear : 17 x 8.5 with offset of 30. Near new TOYO Proxes/Teo tyres, front 225/45/17 and rear 245/40/17,travelled less than 500km. Wheels comes with Mercedes centre caps and fully balanced. Wheels and tyres fit current model SLK(R171) and earlier model SLK(R170), all model CLK(C208/209) and earlier model C class(W203). Tyres alone worth more. Will not disappoint.

Welcome to the World’s Premier Mercedes-Benz SLK Community from Valrico, Florida!

If you haven't, please update your location/vehicle (model and year) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.
‘Usercp’ at the top left of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’. And it only takes about 30 seconds to do!

You might want to post an introduction in the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section, if you haven’t already.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:

If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.

In addition, if you haven’t, please post your question in the appropriate discussion forum for a quicker response and only once. Be patient and a knowledgeable member or guest will address your question.

If you wish to become PM (Private Message)- capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.

New members and guests should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Dang! Just about what I've been looking for wheel-wise . . . but wrong side of the planet for me. :-( They look very nice though. Are they OEM or aftermarket?

May well be selling these same wheels in the UK soon, just need to make sure the 18" ones don't ruin the ride first!

Jon aren't you moving from 18" ones? Is that for ride reasons or did you just want spares?

Sorry to OP if this is classed as hijacking, but I figured it was a free bump!

My 16" tyres are like balloons compared to the 18". But they hang on in the corners fine. 17" are thought to be ideal for handling. 18" look nicest.

I'm sure there have been at least two maybe three occasions where I have hit pot-holes that may have broken 18" rims. Jon knows of one that several of us hit up in the north-east, that had everyone out of the cars looking for damage.

A lot of comes down the roads you drive on. I'd love to have 18" for the looks, but the roads I drive everyday would suggest that may not be a good choice.

IIRC, my old TR7 had 175/70 x13 on it. At the time that was a pretty wide, low tyre...

Surprisngly that pot hole that made me swear didnt do any damage to the rim and I went all round the tyre feeling for any damage or bulges. Nothing found. !8's may look "nice" but when does one sacrifice nice for sensible. !9's and 20's are ridiculous in my mind. We are driving on roads that in most countries leave a lot to be desired surface wise. We are not driving on a race circuit. Its like buying shoes that cripple you but look good ( sorry ladies but its true) The best solution is something that looks good and does the job its intended for. The other thing about big rims and low profiles they offer no rim protection if your unlucky enough to even touch a kerb
