R172 17" alloys & tyres

What would be a reasonable price to ask for 4 brand new slk 17" alloys with tyres - direct from the factory?
I'll have a set in around two weeks time.

Thanks in advance

It depends on what style of wheel they are. Can you post a pic?

They're the standard 17" alloys that come with the car. I don't have a pic to post I'm afraid

I'm assuming that these wheels will also fit onto a 171/172 slk too.

The wheels are available with four brand new tyres from the factory.

If you don't sell them, and you intend driving your R172 in winter, they're worth keeping to put winter tyres on. With the SLK being RWD and fairly light on the back end, winter tyres make a helluva difference.

That may be an option.

I can't see a 172 owner wanting these, however they may make a nice upgrade for a 170/171 owner.

Apologies for the type error. I meant to say 170/171

What other type/make of cars would these wheels fit?

I can see myself having to list them on ebay.

Stock ET for 350's are f36-r30, sport is f37-r30. Would the 172 wheels cause any fitment problems on a 171? I've never upgraded wheels, so I have no idea. Also, what tires are on these wheels.

Thank you.

Lockheed 1971

Hi, I may well be interested in purchasing these for my R171 350.

Do you know that they will definately fit straight onto the car?

Perhaps you could pm me asap so that we may discuss.

Regards

Lockheed

Sorry I should have done my research first.

Looking into it it would appear that the offsets on these wheels are too large for the R171 - tho if anyone can advise who knows about these things I'd be grateful as I know very little.

Also R171 has 12mm bolts, R172 has 14mm bolts, I think this could be a dealbreaker.

Again if anyone can advise please jump in.

So those ET's are pushing the edge of what you'd want to do on an R171, but I bet they would fit. There are also two different bolt sets for the R172, one's longer than the other (for the 16' wheels evidently) Suspect that these would work on a R171 but with the longer R171 bolts. If they were 18's, you'd prolly be over the edge.

Looks like these are close to what come on the W204 these days - so if you are intent on selling them, that's probably a safer market..

Take a look at WhiteRabbits post - at the very least you'll need some specialized bolts to use these on the R171/170. The shaft diameter on the R172 is 14mm, and on the R171 is 12mm. I strongly suspect you could get bolts that would work, but you are starting to needless complicate things I think!

Also, Jeff's spot on - the W204 is the "new" C-Series.
