s> Sport airbox for SLK 350 / 280 / 300

****SOLD*** Thanks again SLK forum!= )
Selling a perfect condition OEM sport airbox with filters, used less than 10k km.
This sport airbox have holes and plastic rubber on both side.
Change the sound of the engine and the exhaust into more deeper and more aggressive note. It does feel more responsive or more sportier compare to the normal airbox, especially when it goes pass 40k r.m.p.
I am looking for $200obo + shipping.
Or pick up for free (I live in Vancouver Canada).
I can also help you install it for free = ) if needed.
pm or e-mail me if interested: [email protected]

Part #: A 273 090 20 01

Am planning to trade in my SLK350 and get a used SLK55 or maybe a used lotus (if they have the color I wanted before I trade it in for the 55). = )
Either way, this airbox is not going to fit on the 55 nor on the lotus.

Do you think my car has the same air box if it's the 2009 face lift with the red accent?

Yes - you should already have the sport airbox.

I have no idea...
It is really easy to do it yourself. = )
Cover the part that don't wanted to be painted. Sand it and spray can it.

Personally, I'd say NO!!! Its just like sticking on an AMG badge a non-AMG car. ... or even as bad as stick on fake fender fins https://www.slkworld.com/slk-r171-gen...tml#post166889

If you're prepared to pay someone to paint a bit of plastic, then why not use the cash for the real airbox ?

Hi.....if you'll take $175 USD plus reasonable shipping, it take it.

Sorry mate, I read your post as the other way around, ie someone wanting to paint an ordinary box red.

oops

Ahh, now that would be sad.

No, I would have the box but the red stripe wouldn't look right. Before making an offer I wanted to try and gauge how much it would cost to respray the red to silver. Mute point now as it looks like someone has already made an offer.... I'll keep looking I guess.

Interestingly enough, that's the part number for the Sport Airbox for the SL350, not for the SLK...

MSRP for the SLK350 sport airbox is $264 with 2 paper filters.

How does one determine which sport airbox comes with red or silver accent? Are all the 2009 airboxes automatically red? I know some sport airboxes come in silver...

James, the way I read it the "older" one (pre F/L 350 engine upgrade) are sliver, the new ones are red.

I'll look at Adam's next time I'm over, I'm pretty sure his is silver..
