Escort Radar Detector Auction 9500ix

User ETYU won the Escort Radar Detector in Las Vegas and had requested to create an auction with the proceeds going to offset the event cost since there were no registration fees this year. Thank you very much ETYU!!!

So we have established an auction for the item. If you are interested in making a bid please see the auction here:

I have this one and I can say it is worth every penny of the retail $500, especially if you live or travel to cities with lots of red light/speed cameras. Someone is going to end up with a great deal!

On 2005+ SLK's you can mount it right between the passenger visor and reading light. It is out of the way, highest point on the windshield, clear view of the sky for the gps, and you can run the power cable through the A-pillar for a clean install.

i have the V1 right now, and i was wondering which one is most affection? V1 has been good to me so far. but i think the 9500ix has some great features that V1 not.

I was just going to ask to see how the bidding was going and also noted that the listing has been removed. Perhaps someone offered a really good price. Sold perhaps?

Edit: found the LInk: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Escor...item1c0d35ca05

It's from Atlanta Georgia, seller has an EXCELLENT rating , did a search at ebay using passport 9500ix. Not bad, 8 bids so far.

Apparently Escort has people that watch for copyright infringement. I did not realize it but the photo I used on the auction was copyright protected. The photo has been changed and there is a new auction running and the link above is now to the new auction. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Quick question... if I were to purchase one of these (and assume I'm not a DIY kind of guy), how expensive would it be to have it professionally installed?

It sounds fairly simple so I would assume its a quick/relatively inexpensive job?

This is a dashboard/windshield unit so there isn't really anything to install. Escort did say that you could put this toward another set up though.

How is it mounted? I'm very interested in this.

How about some photos on how it's mounted?

Since this is in a sealed box I don't have a way to take pictures and post up, but if you go to www.escortradar.com there is more information on this unit. Let me know if I can help in any way.

I was referring to Jason's (LynxFx) set-up if he could post photos

I made a new thread with some pictures and instructions on the install. It would have been a bit excessive for this thread.
