Ordered a 2019 SLC300 today

My SLK300 lease is up on the first of April and I've been looking, researching and checking rumors of the SLC's demise. Finally gave up looking elsewhere and called my local MB Salesman. He advised me not to wait too long as MBs in production are for Jan/Feb 2019 deliveries and mine will be in March 2019. As fast as time goes lately it will be here soon! He didn't have any info on future of the SLC. MB seems to run a very tight ship on that kind of info. The MBUSA build site is missing order items and the colors are poor at best, on the computer and in real life. I scheduled a meeting this morning and although there were no SLCs to check out he had other vehicles with the colors I had mentioned as possibilities. Selenite Gray was the winner and was the shiniest of the lot. Sahara beige MB-Tex and Black Ash wood were selected for the interior.

The SLK had the Premium 1 Package and the only thing I needed was the HK speaker package. For 2019 the HK speaker upgrade is a stand alone option that I selected. Premium I was crossed off to leave $ for other options. There are some newly resurfaced roads here in Western New York but there are many with cracks, patches and potholes. I selected the base 17 inch wheels on the SLK and they provide a very nice ride. Not perfect but very good on all but the worst roads. I like the looks of the 18 inch wheels in the AMG package and had figured that it could replace the Premium 1 Package cost. Those wheels are fine but the package changes the suspension to a much firmer system. I did select the stand alone 18 inch 5 double spoke wheels instead.Finished the build with a rear spoiler and locking wheel bolts.

Went for a nice ride after leaving the dealership and ran some errands on the way home. One of the biggest factors in staying with the small MB is that for us it is the perfect car. We're in our 70s and both have back troubles. The seats are extremely comfortable and supportive and the car is easy to maneuver and park in town. Power is great when needed but it's at home in slow traffic. Once in a great while I'll travel on the Interstate and it will cruse all day ay 70 mph and still provide great gas mileage. I look forward to it's delivery.

Agree that the "Black Ash" trim looks smart & "Selenite Grey" is in My mind the best colour, now that "Diamond Silver" got deleted here in the UK from the June 2018 broucher and didn't think that the "Brilliant Blue" was that brilliant, un-less seen in full sun, but even then....

I took this picture back in April, that shows "Selenite Grey" against My old "Palladium Silver"

Both look good. Very disappointed in color choices. My SLK is black and I wanted something different.

My Sales Person submitted my build request to MB but it appears that it hasn't been put into their system. Does anyone know for sure if SLC production has a firm stop date?

I'll second the Selenite Grey as the best colour imo. Before buying mine I went around to every pretty much every dealer in London to get a fix on colours.

Iridium Silver Metallic. Nice colour - although doesn't quite pop like the Selenite Grey, or the SLK silvers.
Indium grey metallic. Unattractive in the flesh, very beigy
Brilliant blue metallic. Disappointing blue, as Trev said needs full sunshine to make it almost work
Designo cerussite grey magno. Was torn on this colour but in the end felt it was too matt - and didn't do the SLC justice.

Over here in the UK the SLC is still showing for sale on the Mercedes Website & on the discounting "Carwow" website.

But I know that until the MB Factory excepts Your order, Your not getting a SLC to Your spec'....
Again over here in the UK, the actual ordering person for a Dealership has access to see what build slots are available & any restrictions on options & paint finishes.. (For example no Selenite Grey SLC's where built in November 2018...!!)

My advice to anyone who is thinking about a brand new SLC with options they want, is to order sooner rather than later, as MB will not announce an end date for the SLC, the factory just stops excepting orders...

2L Turbo is plenty for this small car. You ticked the right options. I have 18 inch wheels and they are extremely hard. Since my SLC is a week end car I can live with it. But had it been a daily driver, I would have some issues.

I sent my Salesman a copy of your post ( without the personal info and name ) this afternoon. He just sent me an email saying that he was able to trade a vehicle on his lot for an SLC build spot with Spring delivery from another Dealership. I changed the wheels back to the base 17 inch ones. Not as flashy but they do provide an excellent ride. I also gave him the option to change the exterior color if it becomes a problem. I don't know if this had any bearing but earlier today I sent him a copy of the posting on the bimmerpost.com site that listed the pricing on the 2019 Z4. It's base price was just a little higher than the SLC. I think I can relax now!

Selenite Grey with Sahara beige interior. Our SLK300 has the beige interior and it stays nice and cool in the summer.

The "Sahara Beige" interior does look smart

Haha not biased at all...

That interior looks superb (very plush) - that's the only thing I don't love about my SLC - the black interior is somewhat boring.
