Leo, dunno. No problem buying my Lincoln. Went in to use the toilet and drove one home. We had a great time as recounted here before. Same me, different them. That said, the dealer I was working with elsewhere did not call back after he said he'd check local inventory before I gave up and ordered one. Turned out the other guy had TWO in stock, both the right color and trim and with every option but $2000 DVD players which I had no earthly use for. Two small options I didn't want like a trailer hitch but I could have it today. Took a picture of me with my new car and sent it to him. The Bass Bros., who own half of downtown Fort Worth, bought one of those and another one the next day. In good company.
At the dealer here I bought my used 350, I had long, agreeable talks with two of the salesmen. Never called when a demo came in. The third did not know what an SLC was despite one sitting 40 feet way, talked to him a bit but he was out of it, no help. Someone in the MB Club said they sell 300 cars a week and thus don't care, making plenty already. Bad service experience there as well. The others are recounted in a previous post. I don't get it. No problem in Waco, they were aw shucks good ol' boys, best I can describe. No pressure, no arguments, no nitrogen, no deposit - "Your word is OK," no problem. Sold. He went where no man had gone before.
As to other comments, you can't get a Diamond Silver off the lot, nor body colored mirrors, which are a no cost special order only option. Those black mirrors make it look like a base model. That was a change for 2018. Yuck. Could not convince the next to last guy of that, refused to look at the web site and hung up on me. The first guy I talked to there never called back with information I asked for after I test drove an SL 550 while I was in for service!
Plus, stopped at the Village Bakery in West, TX, for a dozen kolaches, about a two day's supply. Rain held off, I-35 was moving at the speed limit for a change. Got exactly what I wanted, saved $1500 American. A good day.
