I am the 2nd owner of a 1999 SLK230 I purchased in 2007 with only 24,000 miles on the odometer. It now just passed the 51,000 mile mark as of 5/1/11. It is black with the dark charcoal gray interior. It has all the factory options except the power/heated seats. Besides scheduled MB maintenance, the only repairs I've had to deal with since I purchased the vehicle was tires, replace a left rear power window lift, and one right side power top hydraulic pump. I have never used my local dealer, your best bet for these is find a local MB specialist who are by far more reasonable in price than the dealer, and will remember you by name when you bring your car in for service, and I have a really good one here locally in Austin Texas. My beauty sure gets the looks, and people flat out cannot believe it when I tell them its 12 years old!

I changed my grill to an aftermarket SL500 style I found on E-Bay, and had my original alloy rims custom chromed since MB never had SLK230 chrome rims as an option. They're real eye catchers!
