R172 Throttle Body Coupler replacement

Anyone ever done a replacement on the ribbed part of the intake? I don't want ribbed because it causes a lot of turbulence and was thinking of going smooth rather than ribbed for better performance. I think most of the aftermarket stuff made for this application is made of silicone.

BUT!

I must add this.

My last car... (Don't laugh)
A Nissan Juke...

Every thing that could be modded, was modded.

The Same Hose on my Juke was swapped for a "Smooth Silicone Hose" and guess what, the flex of the hose is what kept it connected when I stomped on it. I'd often have to pull over, re-connect the hose, and clear the CEL using my blue tooth ODB scanner.
