ECU Repro!

Hi guys!

My girlfriend just bought a 2012 MB SLK 200 CGI, and we're looking to improve it, do you know about ECU reprogramming and exhaust systems?

Thanks a lot!

Maybe worth a try

Still looking to increase performance of your new slk? You may want to have a look at www.racechip.de. Ive ordered one from the UK and it got delivered in about a week. Performance has clearly improved. Installation was easy, you don't lose warranty and the normal engine management warnings etc keep working as they should. Have a look and decide yourself, these guys seem to have shipped around 25k units in one year so no small player in the market. Alternatively brabus sells similar products but at higher price points. Good luck!

I had a look at the site JBN1980, seem legitimate! Do you feel it was worth it? how much power did you gain? i would have done it with brabus but they said they dont do manual yet sadly. So do you think i should do it with race chip? are u extremely happy with what you got? thanks for the help buddy

Re

Hey there
I'm happy with the performance upgrade, I've not had the machine benchmarked. The vendor claims up to 230bhp, most other alternatives quote 220, so it may be closer to the latter. Another good feature is that you will be able to plug it into your next turbo charged petrol car. I previously had a powerbox from them in a BMW 320d, purchased a new lead and that box is now in my girlfriends MB C250. Bit annoying that they sell the diesel boxes for 220 euro, but the petrol ones for 470 or so...

Let us know what you decide

I'm just looking into this now myself.

Both Carlsson and Brabus has ECU-trims for all R172 engines.
The very best thing with this kits are that MB-dealers can fit it and
you don't loose the warranty.

The Brabus comes in two trims, The B20 kit and the B20S kit.

The difference is that the B20 S comes with a bigger charge air cooler and an electronic sports wastegate.

The specs from Brabus says you gain 26hp on the small kit and 41hp on the large kit. See link below.

Prices in Sweden are 1300€ +tax and 1900€ +tax not incl. installation.

Does anyone on this board have any experience from these kits?
The best upside is as stated before that you keep all warranties.
