I live in what you would call a high cost country, and our car taxes are insane!
I paid more for my '05 200Kompressor than the cost for a 2010 55 AMG(that hurts)
But there is a minor loophole. Every year the taxes on cars, such as "horsepower tax" and other taxes are lowered by 10%. Which means that now that the car have been registered in Norway for ten years, I can upgrade, swap engines and increase horsepower without having to pay anything to the government
I already have the max amount I think I can get out of the little 200k without having to turbocharge it or increase cylinder bores.
This is where my question comes in... Does anyone know how hard it would be to swap my engine for a second hand 350 engine?
The reason for choosing the 350 engine is because then I dont have to change my gearbox at the same time. As acording to my dealer the 200k and 350 uses the same gearbox.
Ive looked on ebay for a second hand engine for a while and have found a few. But none of them comes straight off of a SLK. Most of them either come from a E350 or a C350...
Is this the same engine, and would the swap be more or less "plug n play"?
