Airscarf harness

Hi chaps

I recently acquired a set of heated airscarf seats, controller and front panel off eBay and I intend to fit them to my SLK 350. My SLK only has electrically adjustable seats at the moment i.e. no heated seats.

I've been researching some of the threads on the subject and thanks to them I contacted Frank over in Germany to get the correct harness to connect the seats, controller and panel to the car. However, the harness did not include the connection between port 1 on the controller and the car, only ports 2 and 3. I believe port 1 carries power, ground and the CANbus connection. I gather that cars with heated seats would already have this but I assume mine does not.

I have got back in touch with Frank regarding this but while I wait for a response thought I would ask you guys the following question:

On some of the other airscarf threads it mentions the oem harness with part number A1715409206. Is anybody able to let me know exactly which connections this harness provides?

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.
Mark

To answer my own question - I went ahead and ordered the OEM harness and I've attached some pictures in case anybody finds it useful.

Basically the harness had everything I needed to connect up the seats, control unit, upper control panel and F34 fusebox. My car only had electric memory seats but now has electric memory, heated and airscarf seats.

It was basically plug and play and took a couple of days to strip out the interior, install the loom and put everything back together again.

Got to say thanks to seanhump and adamtium as their posts proved invaluable when I was researching the best way of tackling this retrofit.

Yup

Franks harness is genreally for the airscarf part only (controller behind the seats to the seat bases and fuse box), and not the 'full monty'. You'd need to tell him that you don't already have heated seats so he can add the extra bits to the loom to hook into the CAN connections etc.

But you already know this!!

Rewarding isn't it!!

Cheers
Sean

Yes I dicovered that when I got the first harness off Frank. Decided to order the OEM part in the end as I wanted to keep everything as original as possible. Will put Frank's harness up for sale at some point.

I did find it very rewarding, was a bit nerve-wracking halfway through when I had most of the interior in pieces but ir was all worth it driving round with the top down today!
