So while I am waiting for my Kleeman headers to arrive I am about to tackle the last modification to my car that will complete my custom build.....the brakes!
Having trouble stomaching the price of Brembo's kits I have discovered a company called CEIKA who makes a very reasonably priced kit for the SLK. I know, it's not Brembo and I am playing with a "life saving" component of the car. But, reviews on the BMW M5 forum as well as the Lexus forum and a few others speak highly of the company.
Is anyone on this board familiar with CEIKA?
Below is an email that I received from the owner of CEIKA, Cedric Milharo as well as some images of his products that I took from the internet.
I'm looking forward to hearing your comments!
Best,
Steve

Hello Steven,
Thank you very much for your interest and kind comments.
We would love to build a kit for your SLK300. We have fully bolt-on front and rear kits.
For 18” wheels the Small 8 front 356x32mm and rear Small 6 pot 356x28mm rear combo will give you great braking power and endurance and it is designed to suit track use. It will also keep the bias correct and work well with OEM master cylinder. The 2 piece rotors and forged alloy calipers are light and help reducing the rotating mass and unsprung weight too and they will also dissipate heat a lot better. Our rotors rings have curved cooling vanes as well for optimal cooling.
The performance, endurance and weight of this brake kit compared to the Brembo on the SLK55 will give you a night and day difference in braking performance. Even with the bigger rotors i think you will still save weight compared to the 1-pcs rotors on the SLK55. Which will give you less unsprung weight and rotating mass.
Here are some combo prices with the basic features on the product page: (those prices are for front AND rear all included with shipping and everything you need for a direct bolt-on install. We even include Loctite and touch up paint bottle if you choose the gloss paint finish.
- Front Small 8 pot 356x32mm and Rear Small 6 pot 356x28mm combo
Total US$3166 (including shipping, rear drum-in parking brake system, and $83 discount)
- Front Large 6 pot 356x32mm and Rear Small 6 pot 356x28mm combo
Total US$3156 (including shipping, rear drum-in parking brake system, and $80 discount)
- Front Large 6 pot 356x32mm and Rear 4 pot 356x28mm combo
Total US$3036 (including shipping, rear drum-in parking brake system, and $80 discount)
- Front Large 6 pot 345x32mm and Rear 4 pot 330x28mm combo
Total US$2875 (including shipping, rear drum-in parking brake system, and $75 discount)
The 345/330mm setup will give you the exact same diameter as the SLK55 setup but with thicker rotors. Even this setup would give you much better performance than the AMG brakes.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
