Lowering my R170

Okay so I wanted to lower my 2001 R170.... ordered k-mac bushings, eibach springs and B6 bilsteins. Dropped in the springs and shocks and was advised against using k-macs they are squeaky, and you can only adjust them for .5 degrees so i ordered MB Arts camber arms. Anyway so far only put in the springs and shocks and to my dismay.....nose up -.- gonna use 4 pads in the rear and 1 in the front and try that out. by the way I found out the front pads go 1-5 5mm-9mm-13mm-17mm-21mm and rear 1-4 5mm-9mm-13mm-17mm. I pray this levels it out because I am embarrassed to drive atm -.-

Btw if it doesn't work can anyone recommend some adjustable shocks?

You should be OK with #1 pads all the way around. Once the shocks and springs settle down it will look good.

Food for thought, if your not running the OEM 16 wheels #1 pads will get you tire rub.

Just thought I'd mention about a 1 inch difference in gap on front from back

Thats about right, less gap in front because of engine weight. You can adjust that with different spring pads.

hmm im running 18s and there's like an 1-1.5 inch gap still I cant really imagine the tire rubbing with a 5mm pad

Logic says less gap in front but the gap is in the front not the rear.

That's correct; the front springs are heavier than the rear's so the gap will be different until they settle.

update: it did not even out so i changed the spring pads 2 in front and 4 in rear, FYI stock pads for my R170 was 5 in front 2 in rear. now it looks clean and very nice. I also put in the MB Arts Rear camber arms. easy to correct to within tolerance but using the 2 pads in the front put it .1 out of tolerance on negative camber. without an adjust ment. tolerance is supposed to be -1.5 in front camber.

Hi guys, i wonder if its possible to remove permanently pads and not installing any there or it will be dangerous and suspension will not work correctly. Sorry for bad english

Welcome from New Hampshire, pads are there for a reason. Metal on metal will destroy your shock towers.
