Boost again!

I had addressed my lack of boost after installing a Eurocharged performance tune in a few threads. Well I did a datalog today and saw my throttle position never got over 58%, even when to the floor. I sent that info to Jerry at Euro. and he sent back a different tune. After installing it the motor ran exactly like it did after I installed the very first performance tune, it idles rough at 1000rpm and when driven the rpm's did not go over 1000. Jerry suggested I disconnect the battery as he stated that was the way to reset the TPSensor. Well, it worked and now the car is as perky as ever. That's pesky to my friend Jeff! Back in the saddle again. Nice way to spend my birthday with friends and a friendly comparison of the SLK32 AND THE SLK55! So after what seems like a month of messing with this no boost issue all is well again. Mark

Glad you finally got a solution to your frustrating SC issue. Have to keep that fix in mind. Nice that it was so simple and didn't involve a trip to Pompano or the removal of the ECU.

Happy Birthday to you as well. But watch out challenging Jeff and his SLK55. I've seen them destroy SLK32's, passing them and leaving them in the dust like they were chained to a post. Not the way to celebrate your birthday.

Let me correct the Birthday thing. It is in April, the month that Jeff and I will face off. My win will be Jeff's gift to me! Racing is like boxing, many a guy could trash me but they could not take a punch. I'm betting Jeff is of that thread.
Really we have been talking trash for 6-7 months now. I know nothing about the capabilities of a modded SLK55. I also have the utmost respect for Jeff as he has been like a mentor to me since I have had this killer 32. Right after "Search is Your Friend" is Jeff, a walking encyclopedia on SLK's.
Right now I am looking at what else I could have done to my car but it seems not many have done intake or even exhaust mods to their SLK32's. I could ask Jeff but would not want to scare him off
PS: Had I not messed with the datalog who knows how long and at what cost this could have become!

SEE! Jeff is so kind considering the paint on my car, what a nice guy, he's been a Mentor to me on this SLK trip and It will be bittersweet when he goes down. Then again, maybe he will get rid of that 55 and get into a 32!
Man, I am just lying in bed unable to sleep for fear of having you look bad so let's make it clear this is for fun, maybe charity if we sell tickets. I've been letting other forums know it is 90% fun and 10% grudge-the grudge will be a win for the lowly 32's.

That made me laugh out loud and that is rare. I have few wrinkles because of my stoic look, no smiling. Even when I dust you I will feel sorry for you but you could have bought a beautiful SLK32 AMG. All I have to do is research as I have very long days since I have not worked since July of 2000. What this club needs to do is rent a track, maybe have a regional meet over a weekend with many events. Just a cruise with 50+SLK's going by would be quite a sight.
So far today has not been good. It seems exhaust work on the 32's is basically a waste of time. 15whp by deleting all 4 cats and I don't want the car to be illegal. I did save the PYPES forced induction cats from the Cobra. I think I would need to have a shop make some pipes and work the cats so I could interchange these as I saw fit.
I did learn something today, I always thought the last piece in the exhaust system was the resonator but it's the muffler so I can look for a Borla to replace it. Borla makes the best IMHO, no drone and they make more torque than most others.
Jeff, your mods were tested on a dyno, correct? Did the shop have software for the MB or do they work with the vendors while tuning? I cannot get how a DYNO tune is done on a car like a Mercedes, what software would the operator use?

That actor playing the wizard had 5 or 6 roles in the movie, one of the golden year of Hollywood, 1939. He was Professor Marvel, the wizard, the guy who wouldn't let them into OZ with the little round window, the carriage driver with the "horse of a different color", c'mon Jeff get another or two! Is LSD considered a benefit or a hinderince? I never drove with LSD involved, OH! you mean Limited slip Differential. Whatever you do do NOT drink any of my PUNCH! You would be seeing many horses of different colors I don't think you have cams, maybe a posi rear, same stock 3.06 gearing? I'll have to get a Wavetrac with the 3.27's. Time is my limitation right now. I would like to find a set of intakes to get Rob to work them a little, maybe the lower"Y" pipe also.
I read where the SLK55 ran 0-60 in 4.5, impressive and the 1/4 in 12.8 seconds, for sure quicker than a 32. I have read between 13.0 and 13.3 but mine is old so maybe a 13.5 if a cool day. Hey you 32 guys out there, suggestions please, PM them if you feel it is something Obe Wan could copy!

Did you indeed get performance cams? Do they have any bottom end? Perhaps you could post the cam card?! I am interested in what specs these motors use. Intake/exhaust centerlines, lsa? Yeah, work cut out for me! So much to do and so little time.
