MAF relocation on my car

Hi,

after reading pretty much every bit of info about MAF relocation on this forum i decided to do it myself. My car is 97' r170 200 without compressor.

The problem is that my intake pipe is one the other side of the engine (when comparing to the 230 k engine bays). The after-maf pipe goes over the engine

I attached the pic i found on the internets of the engine m111 engine that has the same looking intake pipe.

My question is: Where should i relocate MAF sensor? I know it must be closer to the throttle body, but that puts it right over the engine. Is it advisable to "switch" the location of the air filter and the pipe to the other side (to be in the same place as the ones on the 230k models)?

Thanks a bunch!

You don't need to relocate your MAF. It in a perfect location right now.

The relocation of the MAF was mainly for the Kompressor models with a vertically mounted MAF.

Many feel that when the MAF is installed horizontally it eliminates turbulence when accelerating through 2k RPMS.

I agree with Klinh. your MAF is sitting pretty.
