Boy Racer Takes Out McLaren, Porsche, Bentley, 8 Other Cars in London Crash

The tally after police were done picking up loose metal and missing chunks: 11 cars, some of them badly damaged and some totaled, The Telegraph reports. Reports on the total amount of damages vary from Ł500,000 ($607,000) to Ł1 million ($1.2 million), because all the cars involved in the collision were expensive or luxury vehicles.

The crash was caught by surveillance cameras and released to the media. You will also find it at the bottom of the page.

The suspect was chasing after a Porsche in an Audi Q7, the publication says. As the two cars came into Moore Street, the Audi driver lost control and smashed head-on into parked cars. Among the 11 damaged cars, are a McLaren, a Porsche Cayenne, a Bentley Bentayga, a Porsche 911, two Audis Q7, and another Porsche.

Luckily, because of the late hour, there were no pedestrians around and there was no one inside any of the parked cars. That alone is the sole solace of the car owners, as the impact was so powerful it impaled one of the vehicles into the metal railings of a fence.

Resident Summer Haider tells The Telegraph she rushed outside right after she heard the loud noise – like an explosion, she says. The Audi driver was coming out of the wreck, with blood gushing down the side of the head, where an injury left flesh exposed down to the bone.

“The driver got out. There was blood coming from his head and he started to say he was being chased. Having seensome CCTV we now know that was a lie,” Haider explains.

She helped him to a nearby bench, where they waited for paramedics. Her statement is corroborated by other residents who came out of their homes after the crash: apparently, the driver claimed that he was chasing after someone who had banged into his car earlier on.

As of this moment, the suspect remains hospitalized for a serious head wound. On the bright side, the injury is not life threatening. He is yet to be charged.

“Police were called to Moore Street, SW3 at 0031hrs on Monday August 5 following a collision between a car and number of parked cars,” London police say in a statement. “A male driver and passenger from the car involved were taken to hospital for the treatment of head injuries. Their condition is not believed to be life threatening. The driver however continue to receive treatment for serious head injuries. All of the parked cars were empty at the time of the collision. No arrests have been made. Inquiries into the full circumstances continue.”

It's an area I drive in weekly. I examined the footage and it looks like the Porsche driver came out of Lennox Gardens, slowed a little to cross Milner St and sped down Moore St. Idiot in the Audi didn't even slow to cross Milner St and the bulky SUV bounced over the rise in the crossing causing him to loose control by the time he hurtled into Milner St. I reckon he was doing about 60! We get a lot of these cars around here. Not necessarily boy racers but usually well tanned incompetents driving good cars that are well above the driver's skill levels. Moral, don't take on a fast Porker in a Chelsea tractor!

There was a clip on the news. Lucky to walk away, even luckier not to hit anybody.

But the shocker for me?
"chasing after a Porsche in an Audi Q7" Id didn't know that Porsche could get a license.
Who knew.
