The rally website gives times for legs that match Google Maps times, about 80kph in Sweden, 100 in Germany and about 90kph on the third day, for 3-4 hour legs. Now presumably in Sweden they had little chance to misbehave but opened up in Germany, where with those speeds the Police had only a couple of hours to round them all up, and one assumes rounding them ALL up was the aim.
The website says it is not competition, but goes on to say there will be awards at the end. One can only guess what the awards would be for, least luggage packed,,,, largest diamond ring,,,, most changes of outfit during the event,,worst fuel consumption,,,most expensive breakdown,,, biggest bottle Channel No.5 packed,,,,most stickers from fake sponsors ,,,,longest distance the car was airlifted to get to the start,,,,,most expensive bottle of red bought at the dinner,,,,,,endless possibilities. Pity there was no entry list.
Might one assume that confiscation of the car in Germany could means the owner won’t see it again for weeks? Months? Ever? Anyone know?
