Cheap Oil Extractor

Well I thought it was time to give my 'Nu Yai' a well deserved oil change - so I bought a cheap 'oil extractor' from 'Fleabay.' I know the 55AMG has 2 oil drain plugs to drain out all the oil, but I have used an extractor before with i860 and we managed to get most of the oil out (See our post regarding this) so I bought one myself. Humm, big mistake in trying to save some money on a cheap oil extractor - I managed to extract the oil but it took nearly an hour of sucking ! (Pumping checking for air leaks etc) I now have arms like the Hulk too! I think I'll buy an electric pump for the next oil change - never mind, we live and learn, right?

Is that a knock off? My Mityvac works excellent. Pump it 10-15 times and leave it. Every few oil changes I'd change it the traditional way just in case it's leaving anything in the oil pan.

Yes, it's probably a cheap Chinese 'knock-off' - I watched one being used on Youtube and it caught my eye, so I got one from Ebay - I thought that it would do the job. The one i860 had was really good like yours - a few pumps and it was away, sucking like crazy. Never mind, it's my own fault, trying to save a few bucks. It did the job but took hours, ...Next time I'll do the normal oil change and make sure all the oil is out - I'll probably get a couple of new magnetic oil drain plugs and fit them too....

Lidl do them for about Ł14 quid

at prices like that, I have one for each fluid I need to extract. My first one was from Westfalia catalogue and cost twice as much, for the same bit of kit, excepting housing colour.
