22 Feet of Woodgrain

Only in America.....this is enough wood grain to wrap 2 SLK,s in it.

This 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (VIN 1JCNJ15UXHT025758) is believed to one of about a dozen limo conversions made by DaBryan Coach. The seller mentions good running order and condition, but concedes to a few electrical issues–not entirely unusual even in stock examples. Photos are limited, but the vehicle seems fairly well kept, and research indicates that these conversions were originally ordered by a Colorado-based Jeep dealer, intact 4WD and all. Find this one here on Craigslist in Melrose, Massachusetts for $20k.

anybody remembers 1990??

1990 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Final Edition

This 1990 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Final Edition was reportedly purchased new in San Diego, California and has resided in the area since. It is one of 3,890 examples produced in 1990, the lowest production year for second-generation Custom Cruisers. Power is from a 307ci V8 backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in Light Blue Metallic over a blue velour interior. Equipment includes a rear-facing third row seat, dual-action tailgate with power rear window, 6-way power seats, and more.

A stretch Jeep limo. Sorta like patent leather hiking boots.

There are many features on cars named for their originators,
The Kamm tail,
Gurney flap
Dedion suspension
Otto cycle
Diesel engine,
Mcpherson Strut,

But no one wants to rake responsibility for adhesive vinyl fake wood trim.

Yet someone invented it, and it lasted many years in the minds of Detroit stylists and marketing men.

What was the first car to have this affectation ( inspired by real wood “Woodies” ) and who was responsible?

I'm putting my money on Chevrolet with the 1966 Caprice Estate wagon.

with the right mods the wagon looks pretty sweet and you barely can see the wood grain.
