I think NASA had an answer to that one........

But I imagine there is some choice for an earthling,

UTC standard time,
Time from where the mission began,
Time used where mission control is located,
Elapsed time from launch time,
Time left till return and touchdown
And then there is the moon rotating once every month or so (27.3 days), does the “Moon” watch show 27.3 x 24 hours in a lunar day,
or 24 very loooong hours?

Does anyone sell a lunar watch? ( or phone app)?

Do we have an astronomer here who knows what the international convention is?

They sell lots of "moon phase" watches. BUT time is based on Greenwich time around a fixed point. No such point up there yet AFAIK.

Just a question to ponder when you need something to do

Well it makes me ponder that living on a moon base has thirteen and half (earth) days of bright hot sunshine and then thirteen and half freezing black days of nightime. Not much fun.

Oh, and there are only 3 cars on the whole moon.
A least they are all convertibles.
All unlocked and the owners can’t stop you borrowing them.

And there are no speed cameras, no traffic lights, no peak hour and no rain so no need for a roof,

I blame 80's rock.
Does the dark side to earth ever receive sunlight?
I presume it does, but not an astronomer.

Thanks for asking this. AND yes it does
Quote:
The part of the moon that isn’t in sunlight is often called the moon’s dark side. Just realize that all of the moon undergoes day and night, just as Earth does. Any given lunar location experiences night for about two weeks, followed by about two weeks of daylight. So there’s a permanent far side of the moon, but no permanent dark side.

The moon does rotate on its axis. But billions of years of Earth’s strong gravitational pull have slowed it down such that today the moon takes as long to rotate as it does to orbit once around Earth. Astronomers would say that the moon is tidally locked with Earth. For that reason, one side of the moon always faces Earth.

Incidentally, the moon’s gravitational effects on Earth are much smaller, but – given billions of years of time – the Earth will slow down and keep one face always toward the moon.

To keep everything in perspective, robots inhabit more bodies in space than humans.

Think about the implications.... They don't care about time.
