Man Holds Umbrella While Driving Mercedes CLK in The Rain

The Umbrella sure does not match the color of the car. A car color matching umbrella from the Dealer is a must so you do not look like a cheap skate.

This might sound like a joke, but it actually happened late last week, on a busy street in Nanning city, the Guangxi region, China. Video shot by fellow motorists and uploaded to social media went viral, earning this particular driver the monikers “Convertible Bro” and “Brolly Bro,” Lad Bible reports.

You can see it at the bottom of the page. The driver sits comfortably at the wheel of his maroon Mercedes CLK, while holding a colorful umbrella to protect him from the heavy rain. Sure, the seats might get soaked, but at least his person won’t and, for him, that’s all that seems to matter.

Commenters believe that either the roof wouldn’t come down because of some malfunction, or the guy was simply too rich to care about damage to the interior of the car. A third possibility speculated on is that he must’ve stolen the car and didn’t know how to operate the mechanism – but in that case, he wouldn’t have been so relaxed, would he?

Either way, he’s in trouble.

“Authorities in Nanning have reported that the stunt was technically classed as dangerous driving and they are hoping to track the Mercedes owner down as part of their investigation into the incident,” the report notes. “They did not specify what sort of punishment the man might face.”

Seeing how the plates are clearly visible in the video, police shouldn’t have trouble finding the driver. When they do, maybe they can also clear the air on why the need for an umbrella in the rain, when he could have easily pulled the top up.
