2019 BMW Z4 M40i Revealed Ahead Of Pebble Beach Debut

I can see that the new Z4 will take some business away from Mercedes as long as you do not mind a soft top.

Several pictures of 2019 BMW Z4 surfaced over the weekend and now we’re getting our first detailed glimpse at the upcoming model.

Shown here in M40i guise, the model closely resembles the concept as it features a sporty front fascia and sweptback headlights. The car has also been equipped with front fender vents, a long hood and a rakish windscreen. We can also see two roll bar hoops and five-spoke wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system with blue calipers.

That looks pretty sharp, but I need to see the front end.

2019 BMW Z4 M40i Exterior Design Fully Leaked [UPDATE]

We all know more by tomorrow.
https://www.motor1.com/news/262054/2...-leaked-photo/

A series of photos appear to have leaked showing the front, rear and side profile of the new BMW Z4. The Z4 is eagerly awaited. It is a joint project between Toyota and BMW which should also see the Toyota Supra receive the same platform. The legendary status of the Supra name creates an immense amount of speculation that the new BMW Z4 could have some real performance credentials.

The current BMW Z4, the sixth generation Z car, has been around since 2009. The new version is expected to debut this month during Monterey Car Week. The photos reveal the look of the BMW Z4 M40i. They show a car which retains many of the features of the 2017 Z4 Concept including the rear and the large front wheel vent.

The photos show a grille which is more upright and looks larger thanks to the black surround. The front air intakes also incorporate larger air blades. The rear looks almost exactly the same as the concept car. Whilst there are no interior shots, we do expect that BMW will cram the cabin with its latest technology.

The pictures tie in closely to the patent images we shared last month. It is now believed that the patent images show the entry level model while these photos show the top of the range model.

2019 BMW Z4 Roadster Goes Official at Pebble Beach

BMW took the veil off the Z4. Codenamed G29 and twinned with the 2019 Toyota Supra (J29), the newcomer presented under the Californian sun is the Z4 M40i First Edition.

https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/08/23/l...-pebble-beach/

Teased hours before the reveal by means of three design sketches, the First Edition “inspires not only with the agility, precision and dynamic handling characteristics that are so typical of BMW M Performance models, but also with particularly sophisticated design and equipment features, including a body paintwork in Frozen Orange metallic.” Laugh all you want, but that’s how BMW talks when it comes down to describing an all-new model of this magnitude.

Did you notice the line that goes like “BMW M Performance models” in the quoted block of text from the press release? That’s another way of saying the Z4 M won’t come back for this generation of the Bavarian roadster. It isn’t known why BMW refrained from developing an even more hoonable specification than the M40i, but then again, we’re certain the bean counters had something to do with this decision.

The First Edition in M40i flavor packs 340 horsepower (250 kW) from a turbocharged inline-six engine, translating to 4.6 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph). M Sport braking system, an electronically controlled M Sport differential for the rear axle-mounted transmission, and performance-oriented tires are all standard.

With 50:50 weight distribution, the Z4 M40i First Edition should be great to drive on a winding road. The wide track, compact wheelbase, and low center of gravity help in this regard. According to BMW, this powertrain averages 7.1 to 7.4 liters per 100 kilometers on the combined driving cycle, translating to 162 to 168 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

Standard features also include the 19-inch alloy wheels boasting a double spoke design, Vernasca black leather upholstery, Harman Kardon surround sound system, and electrically adjustable seats with memory for both the driver and passenger. BMW Live Cockpit Professional, adaptive LED headlights with matrix function for the high beam, and a full-color head-up display are also included.

The on-road debut of the 2019 BMW Z4 is scheduled for September 19th, when BMW will deliver more information on the rest of the lineup. “This will be followed a short time later by the trade fair premiere of the new BMW Z4 at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris." As for the market launch of the newcomer, look forward to the spring of 2019.

Not in Germany... Germans pull over and get the Espresso Maker out.

The Auto from Handpresso is an all-in-one portable machine designed to brew delicious, real espresso from your car or boat. The unit is powered via your 12v cigarette lighter or through the optional wall adapter. The 16 bar pressure system takes less than 3 minutes to brew up to 50ml of espresso at a time.

How to Brew:

Plug in the machine.
Measure water and add to the machine.
Add a coffee pod or ground coffee to the ground holder.
Press brew, wait 2.5 minutes.
Dispense your espresso into your cup.
Enjoy!
