Some People got no brains.
Every now and then, we bring you a street racing adventure, but the one we have today is even more ridiculous than the standard shenanigan of the sort. And that's because the involved driver brought himself into the hands of the police... after doing 198 mph.
Many aficionados know how emotional car vs. bike races can get, so it doesn't surprise us that 22-year-old William Jefferson filmed himself while getting up the speed mentioned above during a race agains a motorcycle.
However, the driver didn't stick to the usual dashboard footage, so while this part was also involved, in an aim to certify the said velocity value, Jefferson also videotaped his face in the process - the video below (the clip came to us via ABC13 Houston) lets you check it all out.
And once the footage ended up online (this always happens), it was only a matter of time before the police identified the man and arrested him. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, somebody sent them the YouTube video as a complaint.
What about the machine that the driver wielded?
The shenanigan we're talking about took place in Wake County last month, with the man hooning a Dodge Challenger Hellcat - the race was held on US-1, in the proximity of the Triangle Expressway.
Street racing and reckless driving are the charges the man has to deal with. Speaking of which, we have to explain, that, except a few traffic violations, Jefferson's record was clean.
Here's to hoping that this happening serves as a warning to all the amateur racers out there - when the velocity urges kick in, it's best to grab the keys and head for your local drag strip.
