The Volante is essentially a convertible version of the standard Vanquish S and what a masterpiece it is.
The standard Vanquish S is a great looking car but its drop-top cousin is just on another level.
The body shares the same design signature as the hard-top version but has been slightly reworked, partially for aerodynamics, nipping and tucking curves and lines all over its body.
The result is awesome.
It produces 595 bhp from a modified 5.9-litre V12 engine, which is quicker than the previous generation model by almost 30 hp.
Torque still remains at 465lb ft but the acceleration speed has increased with the Volante going from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds, a 0.3 second improvement.
Aston Martin say they have also upgraded the eight-speed transmission, fitted an uprated suspensions and new exhaust system.
The new transmission is said to produce faster and better gear shifts and suspension will make the ride smoother.
Volante features a lightweight body too made from aluminium and carbon fibre, which should improve performance.
The car’s weight is distributed fairly equally with 51 per cent at the front and 49 per cent at the back.
This should make handling better as the car is evenly weighted.
Inside it is both sporty and luxury with quilted leather on the seats mixed with carbon fibre dash accents.
Overall though the interior does not differ too much from the standard Vanquish S.
The price for the drop-top Vanquish S is Ł199,000.
