Careful what you ask for

because you may get it.

Holidayed in Wales between Christmas and New Year.

Took the Murano as there were four skins and a furball.

We'd just got to the top of a hill, on a blind bend with a bus on our tail when the engine died.
Wouldn't restart.

Got lucky as a passing mech ran his scanner over it.
Camshaft Position Sensor.
He cleared it and no further issue.

Today it went into the shop. Walked home and got a call.
'Can't find anything, may as well collect it'.
Told them it's a pain as car is normally reliable and we only need it at moment
as the inlaws aren't well and are back and to with the hospital for tests.
Can't have @Bluebadger and her folks sitting waiting for the RAC.
They suggested I watch for the engine light and call in when it activates.
I said that I hoped it went soon to avoid issues with the inlaws.

100 yards later it cut out.
Managed to restart and get to garage.
Being checked right now.

So, in the off chance that the same Diety is still listening...
It would be handy to get a lottery win this week.

Gets better.

Shop confirmed the bank 1 sensor.

Dealer wants to know if it's the left or right bank
IN A TRANSVERSE ENGINE!

1. Dealer should know which bank is which.
2. Dealer should know it's transverse.

If they really had to ask then it is front or back!

Simpsons Nissan put the 'Doh!' in Dolt!

Myk. We had a similar thing happen.

The rev limiter misplaced a hearing aid and searched the house trying to find it, all to no avail.

Spoke to the greater Her Indoors for help.

Then walked out of the house using the rear door and lo and behold there it was on the floor.

Spooky or what.

Sadly, great chap though he is, Charlies lucky numbers didn't drop for us.

In fact, we may have attracted the wrong diety altogether.

Murano went in Monday for the new sensors.
Lookers Nissan, Chester supplied the wrong part.
The replacement came today. WRONG AGAIN!
My guys were so...ahem...annoyed, that they took the part to Lookers
to show a Nissan dealer what a Nissan part looks like.
Being delivered tomorrow.

I already was aware that Chester had a poor rep for after sales,
that is why I didn't go there in the first place.

Since I got the Murano I've visited two local garages and been dismayed by both.
The only one that impressed was Stirling, who hadn't long moved.
Needed a wiper in a hurry and they went out and got one.
Had a look at the stock whilst we waited and BB was taken by
a Nissan Patrol or Pathfinder, I forget which.
The salesman was a s good as the mech.
He didn't even question a woman wanting a big 4x4.
Treated her like an adult and made constructive suggestions.

Chester and Warrington, you need to go to Sterling and see what a real dealer looks like.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Damn lucky that we went to three cars a couple of years back.
So I guess that the SLKs sometimes bring a hidden bonus.
