Unhappy Adieu

After much indecision between a SLC, Boxter and SL, I have finally bought a new SL400 (my wife needed somewhere to hang her coat and put her handbag after the SLK). I got a killer deal (about 25% discount) that made the SL an affordable step-up in price compared to the SLC43

I have been hunting around for a SL dedicated community as good this but have not found anything that comes close.

This has been one of the most friendly, informative and useful groups I have ever been a member of and I have to say a big thank you, to all the administrators and members.

Keep up the community spirit that makes this site great and no doubt, I'll be sticking my nose in every now and then.

Happy motoring.

Good luck with that plan, Rory.

Have you seen how much work Jeff et al do trying to get SLK/C owners
to post intros and update usercps?

Even Jeff is breakable you know.

There's already an SL & SLR section on SLKWorld, here: Mercedes Benz SLK Forum - A Mercedes Benz Discussion Forum

It only seems to go up to the R230 SL though... perhaps I'll ask whether we can do something about adding the R231...

Thanks for that. I don't have a delivery date yet so hopefully others will get some movement on the thread.

I like the DJI gear. I've been dithering about buying one for years. I'm into radio control aircraft and photography so a camera on a quadcopter makes sense to me. I used to do a lot of touring in the outback of Australia and always wished for one to get aerial shots of the places we visited. Going forward, I'm planning to do a lot of touring in Europe (reason for the SL) but probably will not have space for a quadcopter and my camera gear unless I can get my wife to leave some clothes at home.

I've been away for a few days, so only just catching up on this...

Have you seen how small the Mavic Pro is?!... If you've done rc aircraft, and you're into photography, then (IMHO) the Mavic Pro is an absolute must have! I've wanted a quad with a camera for at least a couple of years, but figured I'd never have the space to carry one, until the Mavic Pro came along. Here's some else's video showing how it all packs up into a small bag...
... although the bag looks small in the video, it looks absolutely tiny when you see it in person! Surely you can find space somewhere in the SL for it!

That will do - thanks for the link I hadn't realised it is that small. A friend offered me a good deal the bigger DJI (the white one not sure of the model) with the case etc but I turned it down because it is too big.
