(motorcycle related) First ride after 8 months

After having a serious motorcycle accident that totalled the bike, put me to hospital for quite some time, having my hip rebuilt and revealing during the process a minor heart condition, I have been reestablishing my confidence to myself day after day so today I took the leap of faith.
Once again I took my bike for a little ride.

Only the ones who ride can understand how it feels.
It feels GREAT.
Oh boy. I thought I was done with this. Quite old, scared and frustrated.
Not any more.
Glad I did it.
One happy man I am.

This little devil managed to make me feel once again free, confident and relaxed for the first time in 8 months.
Thank you little devil.

And farewell my princess, you will be always the queen in my heart.

Understand your joy and pain completely.

You know that you HAVE to get back on.
You don't know how those doubts in the back of your mind will affect your riding.

The joy when you do, the thrill when you settle back into riding and not worrying,
remembering that this is one of life's greatest feelings...
priceless.

Maybe that is why bikers get drawn to SLKs.
They give quite a close feel to riding bikes.

Glad to see you back on two wheels.

Nice rides too!

Congratulations on the new ride, I've had a few Guzzi's and enjoyed them, the old 750 Sport colours really suit the V7. If you love bikes they're very difficult to live without, I'm not sure I could manage without one in the garage.

I had to give up motorcycle riding. I have sciatica in my left leg due to a car accident over a decade ago. The accident exacerbated a previous back injury that had bulged two discs.
I just could not be comfortable on a motorcycle seat for more than 30 minutes or so. After that half hour I just HAD to get off. The motorcycle I was riding was a Honda Goldwing. A very comfortable ride. But for me, not anymore.
Yes indeed I miss riding. But if I can't be comfortable while doing it why even bother having one anymore.

You know what's funny? That's exactly how I feel after Schwarzie takes me for a ride
