Harry Caray magically calls the final out of Game 7
For many Chicago Cubs fans, the only thing missing from Wednesday night’s World Series victory was one man: Harry Caray. The legendary Cubs broadcaster passed away in 1998, and we can only imagine what his call of the final out would have been like.
But what if we didn’t have to imagine?
No I’m not crying you’re crying!
For that lovely video tribute, we have Budweiser to thank. They put that video together overnight, working with Caray’s estate to get audio clips of his calls and arrange them to match the final out of Game 7. Then they seamlessly melded it with footage of the World Series celebrations and released it into the wild (AKA their Youtube channel) on Thursday morning.
Everything about that video is perfect, but the clip they use to start it off may be the best.
Sure as God made green apples, someday the Chicago Cubs are gonna be in the World Series, and maybe sooner than we think.
That’s classic Caray. We’ll never know what Caray’s live call of the last out of Game 7 would have sounded like. But with this video, we have the next best thing.
