Lexus kinetic seat concept

I love it when car makers think outside of the box.

Car companies brag a whole lot about the powerplant in their vehicles. But what about the most crucial element? The part of the car where you as the driver will spend most of your time? We’re of course talking about the seats, and don’t worry, apparently Lexus may have you covered in the next couple years.

Slated to be unveiled at this year’s Paris Auto Show, Lexus is ready to present their Kinetic Seat Concept to the world. It’s a seat that features a one-of-a-kind fiber net construction with rotational movements for the cushion and backrest. Also, their flexible spider-web-like pattern offers enhanced back support for the driver. The design all boils down to making the spine happy, so that drivers can easily rotate their pelvis and chest without strain, allowing the back to kinetically rest in conjunction with the driver’s weight. It allows enhanced comfort for extended periods of time and falls in line with the green movement: that is the web patterns are made from synthetic spider silk and not petroleum-based materials. Doesn’t if feel good to be guilt free and comfortable?

Will be good for summer driving.
Should have a Spiderman motif.

Will also be good for wheelchairs to prevent pressure ulcers.

Remove the Lexus symbol/logo on the seat and replace with an opening/ostium and slide in a coordinating bed pan and what do you get? A seat designed for long-distance travel, no need for bathroom breaks. This may work also for big rigs.
