Not one SLK

I recently had the opportunity to spend 10 days in an area just outside of Detroit, MI, called Livonia where my son has just started University. During my time there I clocked up a lot of miles driving around that part of Michigan and I didn't see one SLK during my travels . Lots of Mustangs, lots of Camaros, but I only counted 3 Mercs, all sedans.

While there, I had the opportunity to visit Edsel Ford's house at Grosse Pointe Shores. After doing the touristy thing of visiting the house, I ended up I the garage where they had a couple of vehicles, one of which was an electric car and the other was a Mustang. I was surprised to read that the Mustang was designed to primarily appeal to women, but at the same time, would also have some appeal to the men. Who would have thought that the Mustang would have become one of the most recognised and iconic "muscle" cars but started out as a car designed for the female car buyer.

For any of you who live in Michigan, you have a great State and I'm looking forward to returning next year.

Glad you had an enjoyable trip. As you may or may not know, Detroit was (is) the capital of the USA auto industry, so you'll see mostly American vehicles.
