I've absolutely no sympathy for those criminals with concerted plots to take advantage of hard working citizens. Hope English law takes good care of them all! Maybe the victims will join forces in a little plot of their own.

They will get a few years in a cushy jail. Serve about half the term they got then get all the hand outs when they are released and within a few weeks will be at it again. Guaranteed

Bang on the nail there! Jail should be a deterrent but ours are more like hotels. They are the only people as far as I know to get completely FREE education for a start. Did you know (I believe) that prisoners actually get paid to attend classes, and use facilities like ping-pong? Outrageous

Its called rehabilitation !!!!! Wouldnt mind if it was. They are better looked after than elderly people in care homes in the UK and that is a fact

Unfortunately they don't ALL look like that.
I was a victim of one of those scams, and the scammer was a 'retired nurse' who looked very much like a grandma. She conveniently 'found' a family member to be witness who 'passed by' on the freeway where the scam was perpetrated. Spoke to the representatives from my insurance agency and they basically said they knew it was a scam because she had a history, but she had a bulletproof case so they will just settle. If I wanted to fight it, I'd have to pay for my own lawyer.
