Bicycles and tickets

where I live bicycles are suppose to follow the traffic rules.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a bicyclist getting a traffic ticket? I've never seen it.

Cyclist in the UK are a law unto themselves. Never heard of one being fined for anything. The jump red light. ride at night with no lights on. The worst are the couriers in London. They are mental

They spent $5m on segregated bike lanes here in Ottawa...essentially curbs. It's a total mess...it's impeded both cars and pedestrians from crossing intersections. Meanwhile, the bikers hop on and off sidewalks go the wrong way....as Jon said, unto themselves.

Years ago I was pulled over for going 38 in a 30MPH zone. I was going down hill and had no idea of how fast I was going. Was let go with a warning after a talk about traffic laws also applying to bicycles.

seems lately it's been worse around here, even saw a cop on a bike go through a red light, and he wasn't chasing someone.

On my way to work there is a moderately busy intersection with a 4-way stop sign. Almost every single morning I would get there at the same time as this woman on a bicycle. I would stop at the stop sign and she would just come full speed from the right and blow right through the intersection. I never saw her even look both ways, just mindless recklessness. One morning, same intersection and I saw that a cop had pulled someone over on the left, after the intersection. Guess who it was, little miss freebird.

I've seen cops talking to cyclists every now and then. I don't think I've ever come to an intersection that a biker didn't just blow through. Stop sign, red light, traffic, doesn't matter.

It seems to be in the UK Try turning left at the lights and find a stupid cyclist shoot up the inside of you. Undertaking in the UK is against the law even for cyclists but you will be the one prosecuted
