The first production unit of the Detroit Electric SP:01 has rolled off the assembly line at the company’s Leamington Spa facility, in the United Kingdom.
If you are interested in the Detroit Electric SP:01 fully electric sports car, than you will be glad to find out that the model has just rolled off the assembly line in the United Kingdom. The vehicle has been described as the “world’s lightest and fastest two-seat pure-electric sports car” and it will be offered for sale in Europe and Asia in the next few weeks.
The total output produced by the “green” sports car stands at 286 HP (210 kW), in the Performance variant, while the Pure will come with 204 HP (150 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) will take just 3.9 seconds in the first variant and 5.6 seconds in the other one. Both models will be having the same torque figure, 280 Nm (207 lb-ft). Power is being sent to the wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission but customers will also be able to order the optional twin-speed automatic or the manual as well. Juice will be coming from the 37 kWh battery which will provide an estimated total range of 288 km (179 miles), based on the NEDC testing cycle. The model is based on the Lotus Exige. No pricing details have been announced at this point.
