Yamaha Sports Ride Concept unveiled

A new vehicle signed by Yamaha has been revealed in Tokyo recently. This is called the Sports Ride Concept and it’s acting as a follow-up to the MOTIV.e Concept from 2013.

Following the teaser released a week ago, Yamaha has officially pulled the wraps off its newest model, the Sports Ride Concept, at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The model in question is bringing a futuristic design and it came to life after five months of work. The vehicle is using the carbon fiber instead of the glass fiber and it stands at 3,900 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width and 1,170 mm in height, offering two seats inside it.

Yamaha says that the one-off is offering a driver-machine relationship which is similar to the one of a motorcycle. The car is using an adaptation of the iStream manufacturing system which has been developed by Gordon Murray. The total weight of it stands at just 750 kg (1,653 lbs) and its design has been inspired from the artistic style of Elementarism. The attractive sports car has a driver-focused cockpit with door straps instead of regular handles, used to cut weight, but what exactly is found under its hood remains unknown for the moment. However, rumor has it that it may be a 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine, taken from the MOTIV.e, which might produce between 70 HP and 80 HP.

Love the way it looks it just needs more UFF DAAAAAH under the hood.

Interesting car. The shell looks spot on.

But no way would I swap the SLK, or any bike I have ever owned (barring the step thru) for that.

Love to have a drive in it though!
