Ferrari detailing the rear-wheel steering on the F12tdf

Ferrari has released yet another video with the brand new F12tdf in which its rear-wheel steering is being highlighted.

While we are still here waiting for the proper launch film of the new Ferrari F12tdf, with its fast driving, minor drifting and roaring engine, the Italian based automaker is releasing technical clips in which some of the supercar’s features are being highlighted. The newest one is called “Focus on Vehicle Dynamics” and it is telling us about the rear-wheel steering of the new exotic model. This is increasing its stability in high-speed cornering, making it more responsive, using a model-based control logic which is adjusting the rear wheels automatic, based on the steering angle of the front wheels, of the car’s speed and its steering input.

Thanks to this, the wider tires have been installed on the front axle, which have grown from 9.5” to 10”, and this isn’t increasing the risk of oversteer, which is said to have come without this rear-wheel steering. In the meantime, despite releasing a few videos with it and pulling the wraps off its body, Ferrari still hasn’t announced an official starting price of the supercar, but this will be obviously more expensive than the regular F12 Berlinetta. The 6.3L V12 engine has been upgraded and it is now good for 770 HP (566 kW) and 705 Nm (520 lb-ft) of torque. The exotic ride has received a different body kit, lowered suspension system, 20-inch wheels and it has shed a total of 110 kg from its weight.
