Mercedes readies techfest concept
► Likely to be another 'Vision' concept
► Prepare for a technology showcase
Mercedes-Benz show cars tend to fall into one of two camps: one, a production-centric concept that we’re likely to see hit the market within a year or so, a bit like the Concept GLC Coupe shown at the 2015 Shanghai show previewing the new GLC. Or two, a way-out design study that's unlikely to see a dealer forecourt for as long as the earth remains spinning.
As you may have guessed, here’s one for the latter category. With no concrete details to go on barring this tightly cropped teaser image, the IAA Concept will be unveiled on Monday evening immediately ahead of the 2015 Frankfurt motor show. It's the right-hand photo in our composite image above (the nose on the left is from the Mercedes-Benz research car F 015 concept).
We suspect it’ll be a forward-thinking, out-of-this-world design - check out that dramatically raked roof angle and fluted surfacing. We'd expect something along the lines of Mercedes' F-series range of experimental cars, such as the F600, F700 and Biome concepts.
Be sure to drop by on Monday 14 September 2015 following the car's unveiling to find out what lies behind all the secrecy.
