Ever dreamed about buying a Ferrari for $10,000? Well, that's one bad dream, even if the contraption in question is a Mercedes-Benz. Wait, what?

From the depths of Craigslist, we bring you this 1990 Mercedes-Benz SL that impersonates a Prancing Horse. With tons of badges and stickers, as well as with acres of mesh grille, this SL wants to conquer the Maranello world.

In fact, the first lines of its description make things clear: "Ferrari knockoff, the ultimate head turner--All Custom 1990 Mercedes SL with Black Diamond paint, two-toned black and tan interior and carpet."

And, get this, the description starts with the ICE part of the vehicle. From a Kenwood "boom" system to more displays than an entire house would ever need, this Merc has been tune-wrecked.

The seller, which comes from Atlanta, tells us that he "may entertain trade for Lambo kit car." And we're pretty sure this is not a joke - after all, we have entered the kitsch car subculture here. Forget all the common sense rules, all that matters here is that one's ride acts as an attention magnet.

Before you dismiss this poor SL and forget you've ever seen it, you should know something that might change your mind - the final line of the vehicle's description: "Blacked out Petite le Mans-style lighting, custom wheels, car trimmed in 24 karat gold, car hardly driven, always garaged."

Perhaps the guy that customized this Mercedes noticed the rear light clusters of the Ferrari Testarossa and decided to use the bars theme as inspiration. Or maybe this is just another piece of crap that pollutes Craigslist. We're not quite sure.

However, we do know this car is in dire need of one extra sticker. We're thinking about something that says "please kill me!"

well, there's no accounting for taste

even bad taste. Has his Grandma noticed all her support hose is stretched all over his lights?
Why would you do that to a nice car like an SL?
(He asked, shrieking inwardly at the recollection of the Strasse and Koenig kits people fitted to 107s in the '80's)

Back in the sixties, late sixties, I was fortunate enough [then] to have a Mini - all of 850cc… I had two prancing horse stickers on the wings and a generous fixing of chequered tape - and boy, did it go faster..!

I think "car hardly driven" means they were afraid all that crap would fall off.

I admit my head would turn to watch this vehicle pass by. I would wonder if it was a Pontiac Fiero.
