Dinos and Cayman

For any of my friends here at SLKWorld who are interested, there are photos posted at CaymanClub.net of my Dinos with my new Cayman. In one photo, you can see my SLK in the background, under a car cover. I am known there as "987f," since the username "Dinoman" was already taken. Click on "Forum" and "Cayman Chat," then look for the Dino/Cayman Design Comparison thread. Dinoman

Pics are in the link above,

I love the plates, nice thinking better than the CS or CYMAN plates etc "IF" sounds great makes people start to think why "IF".

Congrats and enjoy it in good health.

Alroumi, Thanks for posting the link. The "IF" represents my initials, reversed. My SL has "FI," a plate that I have had for 33 years. The SLK has "YF," and my mother's E-Class has "XF," my plate while in college. The blue Dino is actually Dark Blue Sera ("sera" is "evening" in Italian), and looks quite a bit darker than Tour de France in different lighting. Dinoman

Thank you for replying, dinoman and you have quiet a fine collections.

You are doing quiet well in life Owning Two Ferrari's, Two Mercede's and A Porsche you just need either a 911 or a Cayenne to complete the "Two''.

wow dinoman!!!! your cars are truely stunning!!!!! those dinos rock! true oldschool cool.
your cayman is also great, the best colour to have them in and your interior is great. my only complaint is that i dont like those porsche rims, never have liked them im afraid. i prefer the multispoke 19's. i have driven a cayman S around a track before and i much preffered it to the carrera 4s on the same track, great cra, sounds awesome and looks fantastic.
which would you rather drive your slk or cayman?

Thanks, guys. The SLK and the Cayman are as different from each other as the SL 500 is from the SLK. I have a 5-speed mt in the Cayman, and have noticed that the clutch takeup is much smoother than on my '01 Boxster. I love both the SLK and the Cayman. There is no doubt, however, that the Cayman is the handler of the two. I agree about the wheels. I chose them over the ugly (IMO) Cayman S wheels. Those were the only 2 18" wheels availble. I didn't want 19s. Too harsh a ride, and impractical on our lumpy NY roads. Alroumi, 5 cars are my limit! I never thought I'd be crazy enough to go that far. The Dinos are my cars for life. That says it all for me. Dinoman

N4PWJ, with the exception of swapping 308 wheels for the original Cromodoras on my blue Dino, I've never changed wheels on a car. I've got spare alloys from my Boxster days (mounted with snow tires) in the basement, and I don't have room for any more (I've also got the original Dino wheels). One of my secrets in having five cars is not spending too much on any one of them! I agree, though, the Tech Art wheels are very attractive. Dinoman

Yeah, The techarts look great but they are quiet heavy.

I think 997 GT3 wheels would look superb on your cayman.

Ynot, to answer your question, there are never enough good days in a week around here to take them all out for a spin! Most weeks, each Dino gets one "airing out," then gets put away again. My SLK is now my daily commuter, so at least I'm spending more time in it (though not with the top down during my commute in city traffic). Hope you liked the pics. Dinoman
