the new saturn sky

has anyone seen these driving around yet i think it is probobly the best car saturns ever come out with!
Pro:
More room than S2000
Overall catchy looks
Decent price
Soon to be supercharged later this year

Cons:
No rear wind deflector like S2000
Manual top
No traction control
Minimal trunk space less than S2000 imo
Cup holder is akward to get to.
It's a Saturn

I've seen two on the road, it does looks very attractive, but the manual top is a big no-no. Not only is it manual but you can only lower it when you are outside of the car that explains why I saw it with the top up on a nice day. Weather here has been strange lately, it could be 90 degrees and then rain so it's not practical with that type of weather. The hingle that locks the top is badly made, I was on the Saturn sky forums and it's scratching the paint. You can't load anything in the back trunk except a couple of fishing poles.

Because it's a Saturn and cheap, by next year, they will be all over the road, and noone will give it a second look. I'm already seeing more solstice and sky on the road then I do SLK's. The novelity will wear off and it'll be just another car. IMO

981 Boxster S

I was a little interested before they were released, I heard stories of the solstice and sky being based on the VX220 from europe, So i Was really impressed as I'm a big fan of that car. Turns out there both a big let down in comparison to the VX220, never mind the Sweet VXR so I spent a couple pennies more on an SLK.

I'm surprised that we don't see more on the road. My neighbor has a yellow Sky, black top, interior. It really looks cool. As with most verts (exception MB SLK/SL/VolvoC70/90?) it looks 100% better with the top down. Top design SUCKS (like Dodge Viper). Cute, fun car. Eventually, they'll open the flood gates and they'll be a dime a dozen. Again, neat car, needs some refinements. I enjoy seeing my neighbors Sky in motion. Hopefully, he's says the same thing when we drive our SLK.

I noticed the exact same thing on the Solstice that was still in the showroom. Can't image what it would be like after a couple of summers of up and down, up and down.

And that TRUNK. I thought ours was small. The Solstice looks like you could get a suit bag in there and that is it.

Otherwise, great looking styling. Nice car for the money.

Have you checked the trunk on BMW's Z3 and Z4?

Some guys on the Saturn forums was saying that the sky is better than the Z4, SLK, etc... and another member replied that the only reason he is getting the sky is b/c it's affordable, and the SLK is miles away from the Sky and other members agreed.

They can get SKY and Solstice wind screens at www.VanityWindScreens.com
Pass on the info to your friends. I'm installing mine tomorrow for my SLK.
I'll post pics once installed.

Its a big let down. I followed the development of that Car. I was originally interested in an Elise.. Then in Europe they had the VX220 which was to compete with the Elise yet is a convertible. So when they annouced the saturn sky and the solstice were based on the opel speedster/vauxall vx 220 I was pretty excited.. yet as the cars released details matured my interest got less and less. So from an racing inspired VX220 we ended up with a couple of cute looking MX5's.
