I had only tea at the Raffles. Now I regret not having a full meal!
Well the tea also included a buffet choice of food which you would not normally associate with tea like pasta.. and fish....
cant wait to go back!

I went to Raffles in the early 90's, just after they re-opened after a major refurb - they had an Indian Restaurant there which was similar cuisine to 'English Indians' (i.e. not very Indian) - I ordered my meal, and was asked 'would I like pickles with that' - I said yes please, and a flunky arrived with a silver salver full of bottles of Pataks Pickles - all the way from Bradford, UK - evidently the 'best in the world', and same as I use at home. Now, Corkscrew, if you can organize a shipper of good chili sauce, you might have a ready market here - the best (worst ?) I can get is 'Dave's Insanity Sauce - useful for stripping parquet floors, and oil patches off driveways !

Dinner at Prime at the Bangkok Millennium Hilton

Last night I had oysters and a NY Strip Steak at the Bangkok Millenium Hilton. The wife had lobster as she is Buddhist with some Hindu beliefs (no beef). Every once in a while I just have to have red meat.

We've stayed at Raffles for a few nights a couple of times. It's one of my favourite hotels actually. This time of year, they have a nice tree in the lobby. Carol singers come in every night and sing carols next to it.

We've also stayed at the Le Royal in Phnom Penh and Grand Hotel d'Angkor in Siem Reap, which are owned by Raffles.
