Ferdinand Porsche was an engineer working for Volkswagen, brand that was created on the orders of A. Hitler himself... The beetle prototype was tried by a platoon of SS soldiers during several month in the factory grounds... It never stopped Volkswagen to advertise for the beetle...
The fact that Porsche isn't much visible in the adverts is simply a marketing choice as they see themselves as upmarket (like R
BTW marketing is an other concept which comes from the nazi regime... thanks to Herr Goebbels... and NASA, exists thanks to W. Von Braun who was also member of the SS elite corp...
Actually, Porsche considered it because of the uproar of them building an SUV, but it was shot down as it would risk too much with thier Jewish customers.
My problem isn't as much with Porsche because of it, I finally found out why Mercedes is considered off limitis to some jewish people (It's said you can find the mercedes symbol on the burning chambers, although I thought it was Krupps who actually made those, apparently they made the flame part, Mercedes the chamber.)
My problem with Porsche is, they are cashing in just to cash in, but worse, they are being dishonest about it. They are not an independant company that is worried if they don't sell SUV's to get more cash, they will be gobbled up by another corporation. They have been part of VW AUDI for decades. They are just saying they are.
I don't fault BMW or Mercedes for jumping on the SUV bandwagon, they are full line manufacturers that make many vehicles to appeal to many different people. However, Porsche tries say they are still an exotic sports car maker like Ferrari and Lamborghini (which did the SUV bandwagon way too early) and charge according mark ups. Lambo is owned by VW-Porsche-Audi and some investors now, and god help if they get a Toureg rip off too.
I think, with all the English car lines failing, the only truely "independent" car company left is BMW. But they own other brands as well.
Anyway, when Porsche admits they are not in financial straits, and makes their prices more competitive, I'll consider one again. Until then, I'll find an old air-cooled 930 Turbo to setup for race, and paint it like Herbie.
