I feel exactly the same way. Ageing is a cruel thing.

Ha, my niece has a twin-air, in its rightful place, a Fiat 500. That thing does about 500 miles per pint of cheap petrol and she doesn't have to pay UK road tax or London congestion charge. The irony is, she's a Barrister, so she could keep a 55 AMG on the road without even thinking about it. Some people...

However, her first car was a venerable Mercedes 190, so she does get some props.

By the way Berliner, what is more of a crime - Alfa with their motorbike engine, or AMG putting their name to a diesel? Maybe we should start a poll...

4 Cylinders - don't you mean 6 - The V6 Busso engine is one of the prettier lumps I've seen in an engine bay... Sounded good too. (had one in the last GTV ....)

^^

I saw a pretty new Alfa something-or-other sat parked near my apartment the other day and as I approached I heard this awful clanking, clattering and rattling sound. At the rear, the badge indicated that it was a diesel (and a 4 cylinder too), so I did the right thing and moved away from it as quickly as possible - hence I don't know what model it was. That terrible noise was stuck in my head like an ear-worm, so I had to go and start 'The Hammer', just to reset my brain's audio circuits.
