Mile Vs. Kilometer.

Ok so i have completely blanked out lately.

I was droppin some of my snowmobiles off to get tuned up for the winter, when i was lookin at one of my sleds, and realized for the first time in the three years ive had this particular one, thats the speedometer is in kmph. and so is the odometer.

Im thinkin about trading it in for a new 700 racing sled, when the dealer ask me how many miles it had on it. I blanked out.

I have completely forgotten how many km = a mile. I wanted to say 2.2 buts that kilograms to pounds.

1 mile = 1.4 km?

Can someone please fill my blank head?

If you google '??? kilometers in miles' and hit enter, it miraculously works it out for you. This works for most conversions.

Google is your friend. I usually type something like: "1 mile = ? kilometers".

HOLY CONVERSIONS BATMAN!!!

Just when I thought Google couldn't outdo themselves. Very cool! I'll probably forget what to type when I need it again, but still very cool!

The simple answer to convert km to miles is to multiply by 5 and divide the result by 8. It's close enough for most purposes.
