Global Warming - bring it on...

I drive an SLK, and ride a BMW K1200LT. - I also contribute to 2 very good forums for both of them. Saturday, I followed a mate of mine in his new (1963) Lotus 7 for about 60m each way, - I was in my SLK with the roof down (4th November) - my SLK is now 2 years old, with about 3500 miles on it. The bike is 14 months old with nearly 12000 miles on it. 6 weeks ago, I started a thread on the bike forum - 'Last Ride Out' - basically, once the salt starts going down, I stop riding - 6 weeks now, every Sunday has been brill riding weather. If this is what global warming is all about, I'm well up for it !!

We all appreciate a nice sunny and warm day -- good for motorbike and convertibles. Right now it's sunny and 79 F in Southern Calfornia.

Who doesn't love great weather. We've had wonderful weather the last three weeks. Low to mid 70s. The last several day have been much cooler. Today was a beautiful sunny day, high in the mid 50s. Still, I was able to wash two cars, the MB and my Mazda6. I say, let's keep spring and fall, do away with summer and winter.

Couple of days ago I went out for a drive with the top down. Beautiful blue sky, no wind, 33 deg F

Not bad at all with the airscarf.

I keep joking about Buffalo becoming the Miami of the north, but I guess it may take a little while to get that warm.

Top down in my SLK in London yesterday where the temeprature was about 12C... just amazing considering the time of the year. maybe one day we will be able to drive our convertibles with the top down all year around!! bring it on!

I am afraid that gritting has already started....so Wolly... you may have to store your bike soon for this year.

Ciao

I drive to and from work with the top down most days unless my wife is with me. She doesn't appreciate all the nasty freeway smells. The last week or so it's been 50 to 60F in the mornings. I haven't started using the heat yet, I just wear a light jacket. The afternoons are a little warmer around 70. The temps here often drop 15 or so degrees as soon as the sun drops behind the mountains...gotta love the high desert.

im in agreement. Every sunday for last month has been great, wake up early nursing stinking hangover, wash car for few hours, then go play golf and spend evening cruising around in clean car! love it!
pity the frost and salted roads are just around the corner. however icy roads = good fun

Hmmm...I don't know, maybe for some.

Growing up in Ohio slick roads were fun, but then, I wasn't driving a Mercedes either. A '74 Chevy Vega was a minature tank!

Imagine, a single track road, up and down a small mountain, hairpins all over the place, no armco (barriers (trees just sayin 'feed me feed me')) thats Oliver's Mount - public (open ) road track, that gets closed for racing bikes (- 20 per start) and cars (set off 1 by 1 for time trials) - Easty, you're not old enough, but, all the greats have raced here - similar to the NW 500 in Ulster.

Kev, here's a footplate piccie for you - North York Moors Steam Railway.
